Are you wondering like I am how red and black buffalo check found its place in the fashion world, let alone home decor? Well, mainly (I think) because it adorable, casual and it say's "I will warm you and will you cuddle with me?"
So where did it originate, I know, you probably stay up nights thinking of questions like I do... and yes where a fabric design and story came from it at the top of my list!
If you guessed Woolrich Woolen Mills you have the correct answer. I LOVE Woolrich wool, their fabric is beautiful and clean. Wonderful for our Moses basket puddle pads.
Rumor has it "Buffalo Plaid" or "Buffalo Check" may have gotten it's name from a Woolrich designer that had a heard of cattle aka Buffalo. This warm wool utility shirt was created circa 1850's.
Though our Moses basket sheets are not wool, they are 100% cotton flannel, we are certain it will be warm and cozy for your little one to rest on during fall and winter months.
There you have it - the Lumber Jack wore it and so will we, for Christmas, winter outings and more. It comes in wool, cotton and flannel, throw pillows, blankets, sheets - I love this fabric!
